I currently don't own any song-KAAKIE

Female dancehall artiste, Kaakie has revealed that she has lost the rights to all her songs after parting ways with Xtra Large Music label.

Speaking on RythmzLive with Berla Mundi Wednesday, the ‘Too Much’ hit maker said she signed a contract with Xtra Large Music label even though she knew she could lose everything if they parted ways.

“I read the contents in the contract, I showed it to my mother and she advised me to show it to a lawyer, I had a lawyer but I signed it before he could go through it…everyone who saw the contract said it wasn’t a good one.”

Kaakie added that she has learnt her lessons and will own all her songs in the future if approached by another record label.

Recent rumours have linked the dancehall artiste to Xylofon Media, a new record label that has made some big signings including Stonebwoy and Becca.

“I would want ownership of my songs if I’m approached by another record label because I lost all my songs,” she added.

Asked how many albums she had under the XLM label, she said “the contract said I was supposed to release 3 albums…it’s been 6 years and I have just one album.”
